Mr Bean, Singapore’s leading soya bean F&B retailer, has launched a new dessert brand called Do Qoo.
Served in specially-designed portable cups so you can enjoy it on the go, Do Qoo (pronounced “do cool”) is available at a 2-in-1 concept store in PLQ Mall housing both Do Qoo and Mr Bean.
Do Qoo’s desserts are available in a range of five creatively-named combinations of flavours at $4.20 each:
(base combination of Osmanthus Aiyu Jelly and soy pudding topped with Earl Grey Tea Jelly and Nata de Coco),
Blue Mint Monday
(a blend of homemade Minty Blue Pea Jelly and Brown Sugar Hanten Jelly on a bed of Osmanthus Aiyu Jelly and soy pudding),
(Osmanthus Jelly and Lychee Pop on a base of layers of Grass Jelly and soy pudding),
Matcha Made In Heaven
(matcha azuki topped with chewy blocks of homemade Matcha Jelly and a heap of Azuki Beans) and
(a mix of homemade Taro Jelly and Yoghurt Balls).
You can also build your own dessert cup with two dessert bases, Signature Abacus (Taro, Yellow Sweet Potato, Purple Sweet Potato) and two toppings of choice, also at $4.20 ($1.00 for each additional topping).
The idea to create a new dessert brand came from customer feedback, staff feedback, and Mr Bean’s analysis of market trends, according to its senior brand manager, Venus Ang.
“We want to create something fun and trendy that appeals to younger customers,” she said. “This is also a form of “life’s simple pleasures”, which is Mr Bean’s brand promise.”
We were wowed by the appearance of these five exciting offerings by Do Qoo – the vibrant colours brightened our day and the desserts were almost too pretty to eat.
Our favourite: Blue Mint Monday. The combination is awesome – light and refreshing, the texture of toppings is smooth and the Signature Abacus (the toppings are so named because they resemble the beads of an abacus) are perfectly done: not too chewy, just right.
Overall, a very balanced taste even with the soy cream sauce, which, while obviously creamy, isn’t too rich.
